Learn about the history of Cortijo Fontanilla

On July 14, 1965, the dream of a German and Valladolid couple began with the opening of the Cortijo Fontanilla, attracting the first German tourists to Cadiz's Coast of Light.

Experience as renowned decorators led them to build their first units with particular affection and a unique design, using furniture of incalculable historical value, which today we have the pleasure and honour of maintaining.

They started with a concept that was way ahead of its time in the middle of the last century - putting nature and privacy first in keeping with that term which is nowadays so ubiquitous, "slow-holidays".

Their son, our current CEO, inherited that philosophy and way of working which endures still today with the third generation of the family business.
